Description

A Scottish Highland dress Skean Dhu, Sgian Dubh, 3½ in single edged blade with a single fuller either side and scalloped back edge, the blade markd "Stainless Steel", black composite hilt with basket weave design, silver mounts top and botton, the top mount set with an orange coloured cairngorm, contained in the original wooden leather covered sheath, with silver mounts top and bottom both hallmarked, the hallmarks for the 25th anniversary of the accession to the throne by Queen Elizabeth II, showing the queens head only used for that year from the Edinburgh assay office, the hallmarks are Edinburgh 1977. A cartouche on the top mount of the sheath with the previous owners initals, AMG. Overall 7¼ inches.
