VINTAGE AFRICAN GLADIATOR SWORD DAGGER Solid Iron. Here is a wonderful item. It is an African Short Sword. Made in the way of ancient Gladiator swords.
Size is about 23 inches in length. The guard is dish shaped, about 3 1/2 inches across. Blade is 2" wide at guard. The Pommel is Brazil nut shaped. There is remnants of old tape or cloth on the grip. It is about 1/8" overall in thickness. Weighs approximately 1 pound.
Condition is excellent vintage. No damage. Has moderate to heavy rusting and some pitting. No markings. Unsharp double edge blade with a sharp spear point.
I believe this is North African and dates to early to mid 20th century.
Unusual example of an African fighting sword!
