Fireplace Mantle / Shelf Rustic Beam with CorbelsWelcome to Pollums Natural Resources, LLC where you can buy direct from the mill. We are a fully functional sawmill. We saw the log into the lumber, kiln dry the lumber, and then mill it into whatever you need for your home.
This listing is for a Unfinished beam wood fireplace mantle shelf made from my lumber. It has the look of a sold beam but is lightweight and open in the back. It is made out of 3/4" Aspen Lumber.
Each mantel will vary as each piece of wood is different.
Some will have more knots, cracks, and color variation.
Dimensions are as follows:
Beam measures 6 1/2" tall and 6
" or 8" Deep. You choose the length and depth.
Corbels measure 6 1/2"x4 1/2"x4 1/2" square and will increase the total height of the beam to 13". The corbels have been pre-drilled and include screws. You will need to attach the corbels to the beam upon receipt with a small screwdriver.
The mounting bracket is included. It is screwed to the wall and the mantel sits flush to the wall on it. Screws are not included for the bracket.

Installation insturctions:
How to install corbels. The corbels come predrilled with screws. Turn the beam upside down on a soft surface. The bottom of the shelf is flat. The top of the shelf has the French cleat mounting bracket. Line up the corbels with the holes in the bottom of the beam. Insert the screws through the bottom of the beam and use a small Philips screwdriver to tighten the screw. Installation using French Cleat Mounting Bracket (included). Please contact local hardware store or a professional for recommendation of screws (not included) needed for your application (i.e. drywall, brick, or tile). Follow instructions on the mounting bracket for orientation of the bracket. Locate studs on the wall and mark the measurements on the wall and the bracket. Pre-drill the holes into the bracket and then screw into the studs. The beam will sit flush on this mounting bracket.
