Description 1 hryvnia (State Coat of Arms of Ukraine):
On the front side (obverse) of the coin in the center is a small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine. The inscription "Україна" is placed above the coat of arms, and below it is the year of coin minting and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On the back (reverse) of the coin, the number "1" in the center and the inscription "ГРИВНЯ" below it indicate the denomination of the coin. On both sides of the number "1" there is a symmetrically placed ornament with a stylized image of branches. Along the perimeter there is a convex edging. Images and inscriptions are embossed.The inscriptions "ОДНА ГРИВНЯ" and the year of minting are embossed on the band of the coin, separated from each other by embossed dots
Description 1 hryvnia (Volodymir The Great):
The front side of the coin depicts the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, below - the year of minting - 2006, framed by the old historical ornament in three rows of inscriptions: UKRAINE / 1 / HRYVNYA, as well as the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
On the back side there is an image of Vladimir the Great, who holds a Ruthenian cross in his right hand, and a stylized image of Desyatynnaya Church in his left, as well as a circular inscription: VOLODYMIR THE GREAT.
