Allgemeine Beschreibung:
Die Klinge ist normalerweise an der Basis breit und verengt sich zur Spitze hin.
Die Klingenlänge ist sehr variabel.
Bei der Herstellung der Klinge wird neben verschiedenen Eisenerzen auch Nickel verwendet.
Die verschiedenen Metalle, die zu Schichten geschmiedet werden, erzeugen eine Struktur, die mit den Schichtstählen der japanischen Katana- und Damastblätter vergleichbar ist.
Wenn eines der beiden Metalle, aus denen die Klinge hergestellt werden soll, Nickel enthält, wird beim Schmieden Arsen (jav. Warangan) zugesetzt.
Das Arsen sorgt dafür, dass das Metall ohne Nickel schwarz anläuft, während das nickelhaltige Metall silber bleibt.
Dies führt beim Schmieden zu einer beliebten Farbtrennung der verschiedenen Metallsorten.
Diese Struktur wird Pamor genannt und durch Oberflächenbehandlung mit Zitronensäure weiter verstärkt.
Es gibt zahlreiche Pamormuster, die sehr individuell sind und zum Charakter des jeweiligen Besitzers passen sollten.
Die Klinge ist größtenteils geflammt, ähnlich der europäischen Zweihandklinge des Mittelalters.
Diese Form heißt Dapur Luk, die gerade Form Dapur Bener.
Die einzelnen konkaven Bögen der Klinge heißen Luk und ergeben zusammen immer eine ungerade Zahl.
