    The Mantel featured here is a made to order "Durango" from our Mountain Elegance line. Knotty Alder is definitely my favorite material to work with, then add distressing and antique bolts making each one very unique. The bolts are 1.25" wide and the washers are 3" wide. Both are blackened steel with raised forged stampings.
    Made with Rustic Knotty Alder which has knots, cracks and other grain characteristics that really pop once stained. It has a smooth water and stain resistant finish that's smooth and sleek for a contemporary look.
    All of our Mantels are hand finished and distressed one at a time on the same workbench that my grandfather made around 1930. We've been designing and manufacturing Mantels and Shelves since then for the past 92 years. My Grandfather and Father are long gone now but we’re still at it.
    Spanning 4 generations (my son is now learning the trade) I can honestly say I've had the time of my life. I absolutely love the designing and creating aspect of what we do. My son however is more hands on and has creative talent you can see....see photos!

    also includes a built in French Cleat hanging system which is a wall piece with a forward miter that locks over an opposing mitered hanger in the back of the Mantel. There isn’t a more convenient or stronger way to hang a Mantel, and one of the best features is that no screws or nail holes can be seen! See just how easy it is in the photos above there is a copy of our installation instructions. If this will be going up on a brick, block or a rock wall just let us know and we'll include the correct masonry hardware for free.
