    Description

I offer this nice example of a Khanjar, the traditional dagger of the Sultanate of Oman. This piece has a carved handle made of buffalo horn which is decorated with silver inlays. The wooden scabbard is covered with leather on the backside. The frontside of the scabbard and the handle are decorated with very fine silver mounts with elaborate silver filigree. Only the rings of the scabbard are made of silver plated copper. The blade has a midrib and is made of steel. Because it is a relatively small piece, I think this dagger was made for a young boy. An authentic and very decorative example of Arab craftmanship.
measures: complete 24,5cm; without scabbard 23,5cm; blade 14cm
condition: very good, only the blade is a little bit wobbly. Please look at the pictures.
