The D4 DUO weighs only 40 grams which makes it one of the lightest compact camera microphones on the market.
Now you can add high quality audio to your camera setup without having to weigh it down.
The D4 DUO also has a very special feature designed for the videographer. It’s a 3.5mm AUX input that bypasses audio from the rear capsule and sends it to the right channel of your camera. No longer do you need to carry around bulky camera mixers or hard-to-find stereo splitter cables. All of that is built into the microphone.
Simply flip the switch to stereo and plug in your lavalier or wireless receiver. This is perfect for when you want to capture an interview with someone but also need to record the sounds of the environment on a separate track that you can use to balance the whole soundscape of the scene.

The D4 DUO also features an AUX 3.5mm input that bypasses audio from the rear microphone capsule. This puts the front capsule’s audio on the left and your AUX audio on the right channel of your camera or recorder. Now you can capture crisp lavalier quality audio during an interview and capture a dynamic soundscape of natural sounds going on around you that you can layer back into your interview in post. This technique of capture a shotgun and a lav at the same time is standard practice for TV News and broadcast but has never been able to be achieved with smaller cameras before without a mess of cables or external audio mixers.
