Inside the V-Mic D3 Pro lives a microprocessor that digitally shakes hands with the audio input it’s been plugged into. The D3 Pro will work with a phone, tablet, DSLR, body pack transmitters; just about anything with a 3.5mm microphone jack. We have tested it on a dozen DSLR models, two dozen phones, a handful of Android based tablets, and the microphone inputs on laptops. When plugged into devices that have a stereo microphone input, the V-Mic D3 Pro outputs dual mono tracks. It can also be adapted to some microphone inputs that use the mini XLR jack*.

1. Broadcast sound quality
The V-Mic D3 Pro has a superior off-axis sound performance compared to some of the other on-camera microphones on the market at this price range. Combine that with its low noise circuitry design with noise level @ 15dBA, low distortion (THD <0.1%) and High-grade SNR (max. 84dB @-24dB sensitivity), this microphone will make want to use your camera’s audio in the final mix of your video.
2. Step-less gain knob; allows you to add +20 dB
The V-Mic D3 Pro features a +20dB step-less analog gain adjustment dial. On each side of the dial the V-Mic D3 Pro features a bump guard that helps prevent the dial from being accidentally rotated. The +20dB of gain is added on a linear scale so you can dial in the exact amount of gain you need for the shot.
3. Easy button two step High Pass Filter (75/150Hz)
The V-Mic D3 Pro features two levels of low cut: 75hz and 150hz. And instead of a switch that is sunken into the frame that’s hard to toggle, the D3 Pro does it all with a single button on top of the unit. With two levels of low cut the V-Mic D3 Pro is ready for even the windiest day.
4. Internal rechargeable lithium battery, supplying over 50 hours operation
Inside the V-Mic D3 Pro lives a 320mAh Lithium Ion battery. Run time for the V-Mic D3 Pro is 51 hours and will automatic turn off if left in standby mode for 15 minutes. The battery is charged in a little less than 2 hrs.
5. Bundled with our exclusive Deity/Rycote adjustable cold-shoe mount
Deity/Rycote adjustable cold-shoe mount is designed for DSLR users. It supports manual adjustment of the microphone's position on the top of the unit. The bottom of the boot is a 3/8" mount points with a 1/4" mount points adapter (can be manually removed). It can attach to magic arm or microphone stand.
6. Boom pole friendly with the included Phantom Power adapter.
Our partnership with Rycote also has allowed us to create a Location kit bundle that will allow you to mount the V-Mic D3 Pro professionally to a boom pole. Unlike other brands whose on camera mics can’t really live outside of their own designed shock mount, the V-Mic D3 Pro can fit into most universal shock mounts on the market. The filmmaker’s bundle kit adds a Rycote InVision Mount featuring the Duo-Lyre on a pistol grip and a D-XLR (phantom power to 3-volts 3.5mm adapter.)

Out-of-the-box the V-Mic D3 Pro is compatible with; DSLRs, Camcorders, Smartphones, Handy Recorders, Laptop, Bodypack Transmitters and Tablets. As soon as you plug the V-Mic D3 Pro into a 3.5mm (1/8″) microphone jack of a device its microprocessor shakes hands with the device. This means no more adapter cables. The Smart TRRS cable we include with the microphone is all you’ll ever need.
8. Auto Quick-wake/Mic-sleep when recording device turns on/off
It features a one button on/off switch. When turned on the microphone is ready in Stand-By-Mode and automatically goes into Run-Mode when the camera or device turns on. This also allows you to save battery on your microphone when you turn your camera off.
