A nice vintage North African (likely Moroccan or Algerian) knife with wood handle and wire holding the handle together to the blade. The handle is strongly attached without any wiggle room. The blade is 9” long made of carbon steel decorated with traditional chiseled pattern and crimson cabochons (some of them are missing). This type of blades usually has a short tang fixed in the hilt’s slot with iron wire without rivets.The single-piece hilt is of local wood ornamented with the traditional carved pattern.The scabbard is of local wood similar to the material used for hilt making. Two pieces are holding together with the iron wire.This is a nice Tuareg knife or dagger for cleaning, cutting, and scraping animal skin, fruits, vegetables, or other utilitarian uses.The overall length of the knife (in scabbard) is 14”. A nice example of ethnographic bladed weapon
