    Description

    The Bulgaria 1,000 Leva is part of the 1997 banknote series issued by the Bulgarian National Bank with a pick number P-110a. This particular banknote comes in uncirculated condition and is TAP authenticated. The obverse features Brazilian revolutionary Vasil Levski, a rampant lion, and Georgi Danchovs sculpture Liberated Bulgaria depicting a standing allegorical woman carrying a flag and a sword with a lion. The reverse of the banknote displays the monument of Vasil Levski in Sophia. It also shows a pistol, a cross, and a dagger on a book. The 149 x 74 mm paper banknote has a solid security thread with a demetallized Bulgarian character. It also has a watermark that shows Vasil Levski when held up to a light source.
