    Description

    This offering is for a
    Civil War Bowie Knife
    reproduction (
    new
). This is a must have for the serious Civil War knife/sword collector as it was an integral tool and  weapon for the Confederate forces. During the early days of the War, Confederate soldiers carried these very large knives, many of which could have qualified as short swords. They were often made from old saw or scythe blades.
The knife offered for sale is typical of the Bowie knives of the period. Measuring 15” overall with a clip point blade almost 10”, it is a formidable weapon. The 2” wide stainless steel blade is quite sharp and capable of cutting through underbrush and small saplings just as the soldiers did during war years. The handle grip is crafted from hardwood which is also in keeping with the period and the leather belt sheath offers safe housing for it when not in use.
