Very Rare Authentic Early Dagger
A True Islamic Antique
A very RARE find from a collection in NC.

Still has original tight winding of support twine

Fits Perfectly inside scabbard
This has been in a private collection for over 30 years... until recently auctioned thru the collector's estate.  It is truly a remarkable piece of workmanship.  All hand wrought... The bone handle represents about 60% of the handle, with the remaining length consisting of a solid silver section, matching the detail and workmanship of the Scabbard.  This is a matching dagger & Scabbard set.  The blade is a very thin and well worn (from actual useage) piece of metal, appearing to be hand forged.  See pictures.
The Scabbard is a highly detailed solid silver (we have tested this) worked design, with what appears as more Chinese than Islamic, due to the design and shape of the bottom... However, that is only an opinion based on some internet research; but I am sure all you experts out there will know more about this fantastic piece.  It also appears that it may have the makers inscription (signed)... See the last picture #18, for a closeup of that area.  The Silver Covering over the underlying wood form of the scabbard, is also enhanced with a beautifully designed finely dotted scroll overlay, as well as a fluted design break in sections, and a single post (pin) with a circular fluted surround - see the photos.  In excellent condition - nothing coming apart, nothing broken.  Certainly well used in time, but fully intact.
