This is a very nice German first half of the 1800's replica dagger of a German renaissance painters design named, Hans Holbien the Younger. It is designed from a 16th century sketch of his. It is unmarked but the handle and sheath have been tested and are 600-700 silver(60%-70% pure silver), "guaranteed". The sheath has two slates of wood that are velvet lined(though wore) inserted for a snug fit for the blade. It is 12 inches long sheathed and 11 inches unsheathed. The blade is beautifully engraved, but is not steel and not magnetic either. It features grotesques with a arabesque design. Very royalty like. It is in very good condition for the age, with tarnish and wear from age and use. It would make a great movie or stage prop or just to have in a collection to admire.
